When are grades sent to the gradebook?

Triggers

Derivita will send the grade when the assignment is submitted, due to any of these:

• The student clicks "Submit" or "Send Grade"
• The due date arrives
• The time limit expires
• They've earned all the points that they'll be able to
• The teacher submits the assignment on the student's behalf
• For homework that has no due date: the student works on it and is then inactive for 4 days

After that, the grade will be updated instantly whenever it changes.

Exceptions

Heads up! There are some reasons Derivita won't send grades:

• There are questions that need grading
• On an exam, the teacher has turned off the setting "Auto-Publish Grades" and hasn't manually published grades yet
• The student hasn't opened the assignment (the LMS doesn't let Derivita send 0s if the student never got started)
