How do "Check Answer" and "Try Similar Question" affect students' grades?

Learn what these buttons are for and how they affect your student's scores.

When your student is ready to submit their answer, they will select “Check Answer” to have it automatically graded and receive feedback.

By default, your student will have three tries for each instance of a question, though you can update this in the Derivita Assignment Settings.

After your student has used all their attempts on that particular question, they can select “Try Similar Question” and this will randomize the question to allow more attempts for them to get it correct.

Trying similar questions can only improve your student's grade, as Derivita always accepts the highest score.
