How do "Check Answer" and "Try Similar Question" affect students' grades?

Learn what these buttons are for and how they affect your student's scores.

When your student is ready to submit their response, they can click on "Check Answer" to have it automatically graded and receive feedback.

By default, each student has three attempts for every question, but you can adjust this in the Derivita Assignment Settings.

Once all attempts are exhausted on a specific question, students can opt for "Try Similar Question," which will present a randomized version of the question for additional attempts to achieve the correct answer.

Trying similar questions can only improve your student's grade, as Derivita always accepts the highest score.
