How to update your Canvas configuration

What's new

The September 2026 update saves teachers time by letting them perform common actions from a new course dashboard, instead of creating or finding the relevant Derivita assignment.

Steps

1. In your Canvas root account, go to Apps > Manage
2. Search for Derivita and click its name
3. Switch to the Configuration tab
4. At the bottom right, click Edit as JSON
5. Delete everything under JSON Configuration
6. Copy and paste the latest JSON:
   Copy JSON
7. Click Update Configuration
