On any Derivita assignment, you can turn on Proctorio-powered lockdown settings in order to
- Prevent copying and pasting
- Keep students from looking at other pages
- Give students access to an on-screen calculator
and more.
Heads up: there are stricter system requirements for assignments that use Proctorio.

If you're giving an in-class assessment, you can instead use Derivita's Focus Mode. It doesn't provide the same level of security, but it's a way to minimize distractions in-class, without needing to install anything.
Turning on Proctorio lockdown
- Open the assignment, then click the pencil icon to edit it:
- Scroll down to Focus Controls and select Proctorio:
- Choose the lockdown options. You can see a description of any option by hovering over it
- Click Save
We recommend giving a practice test before using Proctorio on a real exam, so you and your students can test the extension and get familiar with the settings.
