Should I set a late policy in my LMS?

Your learning management system may give you the option to deduct points for late work. We recommend against using that with Derivita assignments for a few reasons:

• Derivita only penalizes work done late, so if a student does part of an assignment before the due date, they won't be penalized for those questions.
• Derivita clearly shows the student their raw score and how many points were taken off for being late.
• If you set a late policy in the LMS and Derivita, students will be double penalized.
