How do I add a late policy?

By default, students are not penalized for completing work late, but you can add a late policy.

Before you turn on the Derivita late policy, be sure that your LMS isn't also deducting points for late work, or students may be double penalized.

Add a late policy

Go to any Derivita assignment in your course
In the top right, click the three dots and choose Course Settings:
Under Late Policy, choose your settings
At the top, click Save

Derivita only penalizes work done late, so if a student does part of an assignment before the due date, they won't be penalized for those questions.

If you change the late policy in the middle of a course, it will apply to future work but won't affect students' existing scores.
