How do I add a late policy?

Learn to automatically deduct points for work done after the due date.

By default, students are not penalized for completing work late, but you can add a late policy.

Before you turn on the Derivita late policy, be sure that your LMS isn't also deducting points for late work, or students may be double penalized. Learn more below:

Add a late policy

Go to any Derivita assignment in your course
In the top right, click the three dots and choose Course Settings:
Under Late Policy, choose your settings
At the top, click Save

Derivita only penalizes work done late, so if a student does part of an assignment before the due date, they won't be penalized for those questions.

If you change the late policy in the middle of a course, it will apply to future work but won't affect students' existing scores.
