Getting Started with Derivita as a Student

Welcome to Derivita! The best part about using Derivita is that it lives right inside the tool you already use for school.

You do not need to create a separate account or download any software to get started. Everything is tied directly to your school login, so you can access your assignments from day one.

How to Access Your First Assignment

To open and complete a Derivita assignment, just follow these three steps:

1. Log into your school's LMS
   Go to the online portal you normally use for class (such as Canvas, Google Classroom, Schoology, Blackboard, or Moodle).
2. Navigate to your course
   Open your specific course and click on the Assignments or Modules tab.
3. Click the Derivita Assignment
   Click directly on the name of your assignment. Derivita will automatically load right inside your screen—no second login required!

💡 Quick Tips for Success

Before you jump into your first problem, keep these quick tips in mind:

Check your browser: Derivita works best on up-to-date versions of Google Chrome, Safari, or Firefox. If an assignment isn't loading, try switching browsers first.

Use the Math Editor: When you click into an answer box, a math toolbar will pop up. This helps you easily enter fractions, exponents, and symbols without guessing the keyboard shortcuts.

Take advantage of second chances: Some assignments allow you to use the Try Similar Question button. If you get a problem wrong, you can try a new version of it to earn full credit!
